'VEIL (Detail)' - Hand-Sewn Found Textiles

'VEIL' was inspired by the biblical story of the 'Veil of Veronica'. The story of this pieces origin is related to the sixth Station of the Cross, where Saint Veronica wipes the blood and sweat from the face of Jesus with her veil. The veil has been said to quench thirst, cure blindness, and even raise the dead. The work uses this narrative to develop a relationship between the contextual value of the story and the value of the material.
